Conditional Salvation
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name (John 1:12)
I am sure you will not feel very comfortable with the title of our discussion today. It is generally believed that Jesus came and died for the whole world. This is the truth and a statement of fact but unfortunately it is sad to note that not all will be saved. This will be so not because God cannot save all or the efficacy in the blood of Jesus is not enough but the problem is with them.
It is even surprising that some people find it offensive when you refer to yourself as a child of God. They wonder how possible can a man be so confident to refer to himself as a son of God. Some people consider it to be an act of pride. But we can all see it in the passage that there are people that can be referred to as the children of God.
The provision is for as many people that received him. When you received him you will be granted the power to become a son of God. This is the greatest privilege in the whole world. That means to be adopted into the family of God.
I am very sure that you will be highly elated if you have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of family of the first citizen of this country. To be referred to as a member of president family. In our country this will last for the maximum of eight years. After the tenure in the office it becomes family of ex-president.
When you are adopted into God’s family you it becomes eternal relationship so far you maintained the power bestowed onto you at the point of conversion. You have the full privilege with all other brethren even the first born of the family of God which is our lord Jesus Christ. This is great; it is something to aspire for.
The promise is for those that will believe in him. It is my earnest prayer that all
