God’s Formula for Long Life
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. (Deut 5:16)
In present day so much effort is being made to ensure that live longer. There are many anti wrinkles cream. Much is expended on researches to ensure that we live longer. These are laudable effort but in the word of God we have the simple formula for living long.
The simple formula is that you should honor your father and your mother. You should respect them. You should obey them. You should make them happy. You should ensure that you are source of joy to them. Some times they may fail to meet your expectation either by way of providing for your needs or understanding your feeling.
This does not give you the room to maltreat or misbehave to them. It is not only our biological father and mother but rather any one that is in position of authority over us either in office or school or society. May God help you to your father and your mother in the lord.
Once you are able to do this your days will definitely be prolonged in the land that the lord your God had given to you. It is amazing to see this day the rate at which the young ones are passing away to eternity. The way out is for us to follow God’s formula for living long in this world.
In this last days it is common thing to see children dishonoring their parent and the result is obvious every where today. May God help you not to fall victim of this curse that is taking its toll on young ones that are disrespectful to the elderly ones. God bless you.
