The blessing in Quietness

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)

God in His infinite love created man with ability to speak and express his feeling to his fellow human being and God. He could have made us like animals that could only make distinct noise to differentiate one expression from another. In his great love He gave us the sweet voice to speak and to sing. Yet He desires our quietness sometimes

No doubt that one of the main reason that made Him to create man in this form is to be able to sing praises to Him and to be able to talk to Him in prayers. We are told that in the cool of the day God would come into the garden to have sweet fellowship with Adam before Adam sinned and fell from grace since then man never values the blessing in quietness

Till date God still enjoy sweet fellowship with the His children when they commune with them in prayer and songs. God deserves it and loves it. He had made man to worship him and enjoy His goodness. He wants to keep company with man that he created and enjoys his constant expression in prayer and songs

To show us the concern He placed on the use of the tongue He gave us one mouth and two ears. This shows that He expect us to check our statements. In order words we should speak less and listens more and enjoy the blessing in quietness.

No wonder our passage this morning says that when we speak too much there is possibility of our falling into sin. It is very easy for one to say wrong things and grieve away the spirit of God if care is not taken. It is our earnest prayer that God will help us to speak the right things at all time.

We are further told what it takes to be wise. That is by refraining our lips from saying all we have in our mind. It is wisdom to bridle ones tongue and speak less lest we becomes fools. If limiting our lips from speaking too much is wisdom then talking too much is foolishness. If there is sin in the multitude of words then limiting our talking will keep us from sin and flood us with the blessing in quietness

It is better for us to use our tongue more in praising God and speaking the word of inspiration to others. When we do this at all time definitely the favour of God will be on us. God’s aim of crating us with the ability to speak will bring blessing to us at all time. May God bless you today and help you to put your tongue in to the type of use that will always bring blessings to you and load you with the blessing in quietness.
